Sports MassageA sports massage uses a manipulation of soft tissue and stretching techniques to aid in the prevention and recovery of sports injuries.

Soft tissue is connective tissue that has not hardened into the bone and cartilage: it includes skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia (a form of connective tissue that lines and ensheathes the other soft tissues). Sports massage is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in the soft tissue that are cashed from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. The application of sports massage prior to and after exercise, may enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury. Whilst any massage can be a relaxing experience this type of treatment is great for pre or post event or in the management of localised areas that maybe susceptible to injury.

This is a vigorous massage using elbows to penetrate deep into muscle tissue. This process releases muscle tension and stress build up. Following the direction of your heart, long slow strokes across the body stimulated the lymphatic system to boost circulation and remove toxic waste.

In prepartion of the body releasing stored toxins, the skin in prepared with a flowing massage working deeper and deeper into the muscles. Hot Stone MassageThis is a full body therapeutic massage using hot stones that relax the muscles, so that the massage can worked deeper into muscle tissue, releasing knots and tension build up. The warmth from the stones stimulate the spleen, sending out fresh blood into the body’s circulatory system, activating the lymphatic system, therefore speeding up the healing process and eliminating toxins.

Traditional Body Massage

Bowen Therapy

Bowen MassageBowen Therapy is distinctive and applied at very precise points on the body, involving a rolling movement of soft tissue in a specific way. It is designed to stimulate the tissue and the neural pathways. It is a very gentle technique which uses 2 minute breaks between moves to accurately allow the body to respond.

Owing to its gentleness it allows you to completely unwind and switch off and be immersed in a restorative experience. Bowen can be used to treat many physical ailments from muscular injuries or soreness to realignment, asthma and lock jaw. It also works on a deeper emotional level.
