Sports MassageA sports massage uses a combination of manipulation of soft tissue and stretching techniques to aid in the recovery and prevention of sports injuries.

Soft tissue is connective tissue that has not hardened into the bone and cartilage: it includes skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia (a form of connective tissue that lines and ensheathes the other soft tissues). Sports massage is designed to assist in correcting problems and imbalances in the soft tissue that are cashed from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. The application of sports massage prior to and after exercise, may enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury. Whilst any massage can be a relaxing experience this type of treatment is great for pre or post event or in the management of localised areas that maybe susceptible to injury.
